 SARAH’S EARTHSTONES

What a fun necklace to make and wear!  I started with the Lampwork Pendant bead which was fun to see turn out the way it did.  The center blue/green strip is a metallic glass that changes in the flame, so you are never sure how it will turn out.  The background of the bead was created by boiling off sterling silver, so it is also dependent on the.  As you can imagine, I was very pleased with the result and couldn’t wait to put it in a necklace.  I combined the pendant with Glass Daggers and navy blue art glass to finish the design.  Of course the colors and the shape of the beads reminded me of rain.  The necklace has a solid sterling silver lobster-claw clasp and extra jump rings to adjust the length.  The sterling silver Ear Wires with art glass completes the set.

I had no idea how this bead would turn out when I first starting making it.  The blue/green glass changes in the flame while the background color also changes in the flame, so the outcome is a surprise!

Lampwork-  The earliest known objects of man-made glass are beads.  They have been used by almost every culture as symbols of wealth, beauty, and even money.  I create each of these unique beads using a torch and glass rods in varying colors.
