While down in Florida this winter, I came across a quaint little bead store and I had to have this unusual array of multi-colored mini beads! With their variety of colors as my starting point, I created the pendant, the large glass beads in the necklace and the large beads in the earrings to go with them. The overall effect reminded me of the beach on Sanibel Island where you can spend all day looking for shells. This necklace can be worn with any number of outfits due to its assortment of colors from a soft red, purple, blue, green to a soft yellow. The necklace is metal strung with a solid sterling silver toggle clasp for ease in putting it on. Solid Sterling Leverback Earrings with my Lampwork glass, sterling silver Bali Bead and Swarovski crystal completes the set.

Lampwork- The earliest known objects of man-made glass are beads. They have been used by almost every culture as symbols of wealth, beauty, and even money. Today, artists use a combination of a flame torch, glass rods, mandrels and tools to create one-of-a-kind glass beads. |

I made this bead by starting with a base layer of Transparent Purple glass. I then added streaks of different colors and finished by covering the entire bead with clear glass. |
